THE QUESTIONS ASKED MOST OFTEN

I get it.  Working with a virtual professional is a really big deal.  You don’t know me, I don’t know you.  How do you know things are going to get done?  How do you know I just won’t up and disappear (yes, people actually do that).  Let’s see if I can take some of that fear off of your plate with the following FAQs on how we will work together.  If there is a question that I don’t answer here, feel free to send it via the contact form below.  Chat soon!

Experience

What is a Virtual Business Manager or VA?

A Virtual Business Manager or Virtual Assistant is a professional who has a specialized skillset who works remotely.  That’s pretty much it.  I am remote and not based in your city or town.  Our connection with one another is by phone, email and SKYPE/Zoom, or whatever your favorite video chat software is.  If you are more comfortable with one over the other, I will install it on my end.  Alas, I am an Android Girl, but I do have an iPhone that I can Facetime with.

Why Should You Hire Me?

You started your business with an idea or focus you were passionate about.  90% of small businesses fail due to a lack of implementation.  You need a partner who can help you execute your vision – manage the social media, help with graphic design, develop a new brand and website.  I can help with it all.  And if I can’t, I usually have someone in my arsenal of freelancers, who can.

How am I different?

My friends describe me with three words:  FUNNY, honest and direct.  While not everyone is a fan, I have found surrounding myself with people who “get me” applies to clients as well.  I am always going to make you laugh, will tell you if your ideas aren’t feasible and will also let you know when things are not working out.

If you want your business to grow, you need to focus on your passion and leave the rest of the “techy” stuff that gives you a headache – TO ME!  I let you focus on your WHY, the real reason you started your business in the first place.  And I am willing to bet it wasn’t so you could struggle with site design, newsletter creation, setting up a sales funnel – all those things you are spending hours trying to do yourself now, when you should just “DELEGATE MORE”.

You are not only getting a web designer.  You are also getting a virtual support specialist, a project manager, a sounding board, and a business strategist when you work with me.  That’s why I tout myself as a “one stop shop”.

Working with Me

Are You Hiring an Employee?

No.  In a nutshell, I am a service provider.  You pay me according to our agreed-upon terms and at the end of the year, you provide me with a 1099 form.  I am responsible for paying my own taxes.  You offset what you pay me as a business expense.  Please connect with your accountant for more advice along these lines.

Can Can You Hire Me "By-the-Hour?

While we want to be able to provide services to all types of small businesses online, I do not work for an “hourly” rate.  All of my packages are customizable though, so let’s chat about what it is you are looking for and your budget.

If your business needs ongoing project support, I can customize a maintenance package for you, after your initial project is completed.  Our packages include 10, 15, 20 hours per month that should cover any type of support you will need throughout the month.

How Do You Pay Me?

FIRST, let’s have a 30 minute chat to determine exactly what it is you need, as well as whether or not we will be a good fit for one another.

If that is a yes, you schedule and pay for your project consultation session ($150).  This fee is applicable to any project you decide to move forward with.  So just email me.  I will be in touch to schedule your first planning session and will forward an online invoice.  All invoices must be paid in advance of any work being performed.  We accept payment via money apps like Zelle or Venmo.  Large scale projects can be budgeted and broken down into payments. Next step is your in-depth consultation – this is where I will walk you through a project proposal and also give you some homework to do before we move forward.

Web design projects require a 50% deposit, with the balance due upon project completion.  Due to limited availability, all projects must be completed within a 6 week timeline.  Your project timeline and projected completion date will be outlined in your proposal.  Final payment is due before the access to your website will be provided.  If you are not able to provide me with final copy/images/content for your project by the due date, your final payment is still expected.
